The literal translation of Shiatsu is “pressure of fingers“. Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on therapy aimed at loosening energy blockades and tension as well as promoting a self-healing effect. A Shiatsu massage generally takes place lying on a mat and wearing comfortable clothes.

The head (scalp, neck and face) is intensively massaged with herb oils, providing a balance to the senses and rejuvenation to the whole body. The well-known Ayurveda – writer Subhash Ranade says: “A regular massage of the head with oil prevents premature loss and greying of the hair.“ It also helps to promote deep sleep, concentration and eyesight.
